Nancy Mace urges action against Prince Andrew over Epstein ties

Reading Time: 2 minutes

South Carolina Representative Nancy Mace is demanding immediate action against Prince Andrew following emotional meetings with Jeffrey Epstein's survivors on Capitol Hill.

According to the Daily Mail, the Republican congresswoman took to the social media platform X to call for Prince Andrew's prosecution for "any and all potential crimes on U.S. soil." The firebrand politician emphasized that putting the British royal "in a cold dark cell" would send the right message.

The demands came after Mace attended a closed-door House Oversight Committee meeting with Epstein survivors, including Virginia Giuffre's brother, Sky Roberts. The emotional testimonies proved overwhelming for Mace, who left the meeting early after experiencing a panic attack.

Survivors Share Harrowing Testimonies

The House Oversight Committee gathering allowed Epstein survivors to detail their traumatic experiences and advocate for reforms to protect children from trafficking. Their accounts deeply affected Mace, who is herself a survivor of abuse.

Mace later posted about her visceral reaction to the testimonies, describing symptoms of "sweating, hyperventilating, shaking" during the meeting. The Republican representative has been vocal about her own experiences as a recent survivor of abuse.

The emotional impact prompted Mace to sign a bipartisan discharge petition aimed at forcing a House vote on releasing Department of Justice documents related to Epstein. The initiative faces resistance despite growing support.

Push for Document Release Gains Momentum

The Department of Justice recently provided 34,000 pages of Epstein-related documents to the House Oversight Committee following a subpoena. The committee made public approximately 33,300 pages on Tuesday.

Democrats on the committee have noted that many of the released files contain previously reported information. However, they suggest that additional documents from agencies like the CIA may still be undisclosed.

The bipartisan effort to obtain more documents continues as Representatives Thomas Massie and Ro Khanna lead the push for greater transparency. Their proposed legislation would compel the DOJ to release nearly all Epstein-related files.

Prince Andrew's Legal Troubles Mount

Prince Andrew has consistently denied allegations of sexual assault made by Virginia Giuffre, who died by suicide in April. The royal claims to have no recollection of meeting Giuffre despite photographic evidence showing them together.

While Andrew settled a civil suit with Giuffre for an undisclosed amount without admitting wrongdoing, he has never faced criminal charges. Recent reports suggest his relationship with Epstein extended beyond 2010, contradicting his previous statements.

The royal's connection to Epstein has drawn renewed scrutiny as survivors continue pressing for accountability. Neither Buckingham Palace nor Mace's office has responded to requests for comment.

Justice Remains Elusive for Victims

The ongoing push for transparency and accountability reflects the broader impact of Epstein's crimes on survivors and society. Mace's emotional response and subsequent calls for action highlight the lasting trauma experienced by abuse victims.

The bipartisan nature of efforts to release Epstein-related documents shows growing recognition of the need for full disclosure. However, resistance from various quarters suggests the path to complete transparency remains challenging.

The case continues to reverberate through political and royal circles as survivors advocate for systemic changes to prevent future abuse. Their testimony serves as a powerful reminder of the human cost behind the headlines.
