On Thursday, the FBI disclosed new surveillance footage regarding the suspect involved in planting explosive devices near the Republican and Democratic National Committee headquarters on Jan. 5, 2021. Despite several recordings, the suspect has eluded law enforcement for nearly four years. The newly released footage offers a new perspective of the suspect placing a bomb outside the Democratic Party headquarters. Captured near a bench, the video might be key in aiding public identification efforts.
The individual was seen wearing Nike Air Max Speed Turf shoes and a grey hoodie with a mask obscuring their face. Their identity is further masked with gloves, creating a considerable challenge for investigators. The suspected bomber's height is estimated at approximately five feet seven inches, but whether the suspect is male or female remains uncertain. The detailed descriptions have been insufficient in facilitating an arrest.
David Sundberg, an assistant director with the FBI, stressed the agency's dedication to finding the perpetrator. "We have never stopped working," he stated, highlighting the continuous efforts in this complex case.
